Lockheed Martin The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs) is looking for world‑class talent in Software Engineering to be a part of a team that will carry on our 75‑year tradition in advanced aircraft development. The vehicle management software team needs an experienced software engineer with FPGA development and software integration skills to contribute to new development designed to fly both our current platforms and aircraft of the future. In this highly impactful role, your responsibilities will span the technology development lifecycle—from software/system definition and design, through implementation and flight test. Your experience in C/C++ for embedded systems and FPGA cores will help maintain and develop custom FPGAs and software applications for embedded system implementations. Your background in test software and Python development will enable you to propose ingenious solutions and mentor junior engineers. Beyond That, You May Also Find Yourself

Utilizing SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL Involved in all phases of software development Participating in Advanced Development Program research and development Responsibilities

FPGA prototyping with modern EDA tools, Circuit Card development, SystemVerilog, and UART prototyping/debugging. Develop, debug, and integrate processor subsystem features and interfaces in FPGA hardware for advanced processors. Full software development lifecycle: requirements generation, design, implementation, integration, and flight test. Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams. Integrate with host systems, including live assets, simulated systems, laboratory environments, constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Desired Skills

Experience with Xilinx FPGAs and Vivado. Board layout tools: KiCAD, Eagle, Altium. Real‑time systems or RTOS development. TCL scripting. Python scripting. Modern Agile software development processes and tools (git, Jira, VersionOne, Confluence, GitLab). Linux experience. Requirements generation and system interface development. System test and integration experience. Other Important Information
