A national powerhouse in labor and employment law is seeking a Traditional Labor Associate for its San Francisco office to support a sophisticated employer‑side practice at one of the country’s leading labor and employment firms. This attorney will focus on collective bargaining, contract administration, grievance arbitration, and unfair labor practice matters before the National Labor Relations Board, while also having the opportunity to work on related employment litigation. You’ll work directly with partners, handle high‑impact union and labor matters, and take real ownership of strategy and execution. Salary Base pay range: $175,000.00/yr – $245,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
Represent employers in traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining and contract negotiations
Handle contract administration issues, including interpretation, application, and enforcement of labor agreements
Conduct and participate in grievance hearings and grievance arbitration
Defend and prosecute unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board
Assist with related employment litigation matters as needed
Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings, and prepare persuasive motions and briefs
Take and defend depositions and support hearings, conferences, and other proceedings
Collaborate with multiple partners and team members under the firm’s “free market” assignment system
Provide timely, strategic advice and support to clients on labor‑relations issues
Requirements
2 – 5 years of traditional labor experience
Demonstrated experience with collective bargaining and contract administration, including grievance arbitration
Prior experience with unfair labor practice proceedings before the NLRB is strongly preferred
Admission to the California Bar
Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Comfortable drafting pleadings, handling discovery, arguing motions, and participating in hearings
Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high‑quality work
Proactive, self‑starting attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Steady career progression and genuine interest in long‑term growth in traditional labor and employment
