Job Summary The Kenjya‑Trusant Group is looking for a Software Engineer to support our Maryland Customer in the development and delivery of cross‑domain solutions. This position offers the opportunity to lead mission‑critical programs that enable secure information sharing across multiple domains. The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing‑intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real‑time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.

Essential Functions

Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.

Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.

Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Analyzes user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.

Debugs existing software and corrects defects.

Provides recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

Designs and codes new software or modifies existing software to add new features.

Integrates existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.

Develops simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.

Writes or reviews software and system documentation.

Serves as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project.

Designs or implements complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.

Develops or implements algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.

Assists with developing and executing test procedures for software components.

Develops software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzes systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigates problem areas.

Modifies existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.

Designs, develops and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.

Minimum Required Qualifications

US Citizenship is required.

Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/ Poly.

Experience Levels Level 2

High School diploma with eighteen (18) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Bachelor’s degree with fourteen (14) years of experience in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.

Five (5) years’ experience in object‑oriented programming languages such as C++ and Java.

Must have experience with ROXY and RHEL 9.

Level 3

High School diploma with twenty‑four (24) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Bachelor’s degree with twenty (20) years of experience in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.

Five (5) years’ experience in object‑oriented programming languages such as C++ and Java.

Must have experience with ROXY and RHEL 9.

Pay Range

Software Engineer Level 2: $125,000 – $240,000

Software Engineer Level 3: $130,000 – $250,000

Employment Type Full‑time, Exempt
