Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency certificate

5+ years of CNC programming experience using various CAM packages, Master CAM, GIBBS, ESPRIT and other software

4+ years of experience on 5-axis mills, 5-axis mill turns, live-tooled turret lathes, bar fed mills, etc.

Hands‑on experience on manual and CNC mills and lathes

Ability to rapidly pick up new CAM software and manage large tool libraries

Demonstrated high attention to detail and rapid pace of execution

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. §1342(b)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S.

Responsibilities

Possess comprehensive know‑how of all CNC machining and programming operations requests for the Impulse Space program

Work directly with different machines (3‑axis, 5‑axis, etc.) and interface with engineering teams, machinists, and operations to optimize machining programs and procedures

Maintain a fast pace of execution to deliver parts needed for engine, vehicle, avionics, and test development

Work with various CAM software (MASTERCAM, ESPRIT, GIBBS, etc.) and rapidly become an expert in new software

Produce hardware on various machines including Fadal, Okuma, Mazak, and OKK, with Fanuc and Mazak controls

Manage digital tool libraries to increase shop throughput and maintain tool magazines

Understand carbide tools and adjust speed and feed parameters for various cutting strategies

Offer suggestions on drawings or design changes to improve manufacturability

Program billet parts with minimal fixturing by using stock tabs, frames, or other methods

Design and machine scrappy fixture tooling on the fly to manufacture parts rapidly

Keep products moving, alerting management when bottlenecks are encountered, and provide consistent ideas for process improvements
