As the Director of Construction, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of construction projects for our restaurant company. You will be responsible for managing the construction process from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management to ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality restaurant spaces.

Essential Responsibilities

Project Management: Lead all phases of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.

Budget Oversight: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and financial accountability throughout the construction process.

Contractor Management: Select, negotiate with, and manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and quality workmanship.

Site Supervision: Oversee construction sites to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including design, operations, and finance, to align construction efforts with overall business objectives.

Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction projects meet company standards and specifications.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements for all construction projects.

Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project status, budget variance, and key performance indicators to senior management.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in construction methods and practices to drive efficiency and cost savings.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

Proven experience (5 years) in construction project management, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.

Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage cross‑functional teams and external contractors.

Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project budgets and schedules to achieve cost and timeline objectives.

Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and excellence.

PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
