The Procurement Specialist role partners with cross‑functional stakeholder teams and supports vendors and expediting teams to ensure timely delivery and accurate pricing and conversions on all purchase orders. The position manages sourcing for defined FBH categories and critical projects, monitors supplier performance through KPIs, and systematically communicates expectations to resolve escalated supplier issues.

Essential Functions

Execute a tactical sourcing plan for assigned projects or categories that creates long‑term value while meeting brand objectives.

Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders; serve as the primary point of escalation for brand teams.

Develop relationships with stakeholders and influencers to become a trusted sourcing partner.

Select vendors based on financial and qualitative criteria from tactical bids; establish tooling to ensure vendors are paid on terms.

Serve as a subject‑matter expert on customer and supplier relationship management for the Purchasing Organization and process partners.

Lead supplier relationship management, driving results through data, metrics, and internal feedback; assist expediting in escalation of supplier issues.

Develop and negotiate spot purchases required for special requests or last‑minute shortages.

Work with management and Strategic Sourcing to consolidate spend and identify opportunities for strategic sourcing that reduce tactical and spot buys.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Economics, Hospitality, Science, Agriculture (required or preferred).

2+ years of relevant experience (preferred). Analytical & problem‑solving skills to gather, analyze, and interpret data for financial and operational insights.

Advanced Excel proficiency: data modeling and complex spreadsheet functions.

Project leadership: independently manage low‑complexity projects and collaborate across teams.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Time management: handle multiple priorities under pressure with high attention to detail.

Negotiation and conflict resolution experience (preferred).

Project management & process improvement familiarity.

Tech‑savvy: proficiency in various business software applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Plan, develop, and implement contracting strategies and procurement activities for spot purchases in FBH categories across all brands within Holland America Group.

Ensure purchase order pricing and conversions are updated in a timely manner; address loading report issues and follow up on quality reports.

Meet deadlines, maintain consistent client engagement, and cultivate qualified suppliers while tracking KPI performance.

Address complex guest issues and compliance challenges with quick, effective solutions.

Impact guest satisfaction and regulatory compliance through leadership in guest interactions.

Adhere to policies and procedures while leading team performance.

Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel None or very little travel.

Work Conditions Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This position is classified as an in‑office role, requiring employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
