We are looking for a senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering organization in
Melbourne, FL .
Relocation and Travel Relocation assistance may be available.
Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.
Position Summary In this role, the successful candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems from concept through disposal. The engineer will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that account for technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies will also be performed to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Responsibilities
Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities.
Lead technical planning and cost/risk analyses for total systems.
Conduct supportability and effectiveness analyses from design to disposal.
Develop functional, timeline, trade, requirements allocation, and interface studies.
Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional or military experience, or Master of Science in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of experience.
Ability to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any required program access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Agile workflows.
Knowledge of configuration management of model-based architecture baselines.
Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
Proven ability to brief technical presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
Foundational knowledge in Model Based Systems Engineering and Architecture Development.
Excellent communication skills for presenting technical approaches at reviews and boards.
Ability to apply extensive technical expertise to develop solutions for complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
Salary Range Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 – $178,800.00. Salary is determined based on scope of responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
