Lead Software Engineer – Caesars Entertainment *This role is hybrid based in Las Vegas or Reno.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Product Design: Partner with architect to develop innovative designs and approaches to meet business needs and company’s strategic goals. Provide direction and communicate complex designs and technical ideas to the development team to ensure understanding. Partner with development teams and business representation to develop specifications for new functionality and features. Provide leadership to ensure the product specifications create a desirable, feasible, and viable product for the end‑user. Define code changes into smaller subsets that can be completed within an established timeframe (2 weeks). Maintain the confidential nature of matters pertaining to company records and policies.

Product Development & Quality Assurance: Formulate system scope and objectives, by devising and modifying programs and procedures to solve program‑matic problems using standard practices. Write efficient, reusable and stable code for complex application logic. Perform code review for others, and provide direction to team members to improve code quality. Provide guidance and direction to development team to meet development timelines. Proactively elevate issues to the next level of management and provide recommendations. Define and conduct testing of changes and regression tests and any additional testing requirements. Work with the team to develop automated test suites and improve testing capabilities. Ensure the quality of program changes prior to production deployment. Provide input into capacity plans and assist with load tests. Set high standards of performance for team members and help them achieve these standards, if necessary.

Product Delivery and Support: Partner with the team and end users to update program and training documentation to assist with communication across the organization. Partner with product owner and business owners to develop user stories that improve product and meet business goals. Ensure development team understands user stories and provide guidance on development approach. Implement appropriate program monitoring to identify any unexpected behavior and route appropriately. Drive quick resolution for any production issues to mitigate current impacts. Propose any appropriate development/solution that may be required longer term. Drive problem root‑cause identification by engaging others with related code/products/etc. to work together to identify issue and solution.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of software development experience, with experience involving systems analysis and design, development, testing, implementation, and training preferred.

Three years of experience that includes team leadership and management with systems design/analysis.

Basic knowledge of systems design theory.

Highly proficient in .NET C#.

Development experience and working knowledge in Java, event‑based messaging is a plus.

Experience with SOA, event‑based messaging or RESTful service development is preferred.

Experience with Windows Servers and SQL queries.

Experience with JIRA/Confluence or similar Agile collaboration tools is a plus.

Knowledge of the casino industry or rewards programs in general is a plus.

Must be a self‑starter with an inquisitive mind that actively seeks opportunities to improve programs.
