5-D Systems, a KRATOS Company, is seeking a highly motivated candidate who will provide full lifecycle systems engineering, integration and test technical contribution and leadership in support of unmanned, manned, and optionally piloted aircraft systems. The successful candidate will quickly learn and become an expert on our aircraft systems. The candidate must be able to create and update system design documentation, perform engineering analysis in a prototype environment, and plan and conduct subsystem/aircraft testing and troubleshooting. This position will interface with internal and external project team members, company leadership, and customers.
Duties
Developing subsystem and system-level test plans and reports
Leading and conducting various kinds of testing including hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL), avionics, subsystem and aircraft-level testing
Leading root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations and eliminating contributors through analysis and/or hands-on testing
Working in conjunction with Software Engineering Team to develop software system requirements and test requirements
Supporting flight test planning, aircraft preparation, and test execution at government test ranges
Developing system architectures for new and existing systems
Conducting trade studies and performing design research of engineering concepts and explorations to determine optimal requirements and system architecture
Developing system/subsystem interface definitions, system schematics, and system design documentation and performing peer reviews of fellow team members work
Participating in planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex, engineered systems and software to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements
Leading or supporting system engineering technical reviews (SETR) including Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
Traveling to customers or test site locations as needed (>25% travel may be expected at times)
Required Experience
Sharp analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and is capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities
Results-oriented, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
Experience working within the Defense and/or Aerospace industry is a must
Hands-on integration & test experience with aircraft systems and/or subsystems is a must
Demonstrated testing best practices including but not limited to managing test configurations, adhering to safety and training procedures, and organizing data collection and analysis
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline
11-20 years of industry experience
Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher
