Structural Dam Safety Engineering Project Manager/Technical Lead
Join AECOM as a Structural Dam Safety Engineering Project Manager/Technical Lead in the East Region Dams Team. This role supports a variety of dam safety engineering projects across the East Region and reports to one of our offices in Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Carolina, Tennessee, or Florida.

Job Description AECOM is seeking a highly talented Structural Dam Safety Engineering Project Manager/Technical Lead.
Responsibilities
Perform project manager duties: maintain client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management and team management including subcontractors.
Client‑facing role with ownership and responsibility for successful delivery of dam engineering projects, including business development and proposal preparation.
Lead technical execution: structural stability and strength analyses, design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, semi‑quantitative risk assessments, site inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance for hydraulic concrete structures.
Plan, manage and lead field investigations for hydraulic structures.
Perform quality control reviews of deliverables such as design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
Build and maintain project schedules, resources, budgets, and risk management.
Plan, direct, supervise and lead multidisciplinary teams on dam safety projects.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
Travel for project work and business development as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering plus 8 years of related experience or equivalent.
Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one state; ability to apply for reciprocity.
Minimum 5 years of direct project management experience (budget, schedule, staffing, quality, and client relations).
Minimum 2 years of proposal development experience.
Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, conferences.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License and must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of related experience.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with focus on Structural Engineering.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
Completion of Managing AECOM Projects training and AECOM Project Manager certification.
Experience with Power BI, Project/Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, e‑Builder, AutoCAD, Mathcad, STADD Pro, ANSYS.
Passion for mentoring junior staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Project experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Approved FERC Independent Consultant or ability to obtain FERC Part 12D inspection approval.
Experience performing risk assessments and Potential Failure Mode Analyses related to dam design, construction, and operation.
