Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize costs and ensure supply chain efficiency.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers, while managing strong relationships with existing vendors.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements and reduce costs.
Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and MRO items essential for manufacturing operations.
Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry changes to mitigate supply chain risks.
Collaborate with production, inventory, and quality control teams to ensure timely material availability and adherence to specifications.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes and supplier management.
Recommended Qualifications
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship development.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and strong analytical skills for demand forecasting and inventory optimization.
In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality management systems.
Bonus Qualifications
Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM, CPIM)
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
Demonstrated experience in international sourcing and managing global supply chains
Proficiency with enterprise-level ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
