Maintenance Team Leader - Ammonia Systems
Join H-E-B as a Maintenance Team Leader for our ammonia refrigeration and steam systems at the Industrial Facility Services team. You will oversee safety, reliability, and efficiency of the plant’s cooling systems and lead daily maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance activities.
Responsibilities • Ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of warehouse and manufacturing ammonia refrigeration and steam systems.
• Lead daily operations, maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance for those systems.
• Collaborate with customers, engineers, and contractors on new facility design/construction, helping set standards.
• Administer Process Safety Management Program for assigned facilities.
• Stay current on new technologies and regulatory requirements.
• Work as an owner in the company, focusing on quality, customer service, and teamwork.
• Foster a team that provides superior service, leads cost‑effective maintenance efforts, and drives results.
Qualifications
AAS degree plus 3+ years of experience, OR 5+ years as a high‑level technician plus 3+ years as foreman.
5+ years field experience in mechanical system operations, repair and maintenance with boilers, chillers, controls, plumbing, and electrical.
RETA CIRO certification.
Valid driver’s license with clean record.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word) and CMMS.
Work Requirements
Travel by car or plane with overnight stays.
Work overnights, rotating schedules, holidays, and weekends.
Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more; lift and carry 50 lbs.
Walk long distances; climb ladders/stairs to roof access; stand, stoop, crawl; work in hot and cold spaces; maneuver around equipment.
Work around industrial facilities, including food, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, refrigerated.
Respond to emergency situations any time of day or night.
Compensation Houston, TX $60,000.00–$65,000.00 (2 months ago).
