$100,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Gulfstream Strategic Placements Job Title: Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Location: San Jose, CA Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We seek a skilled and safety-focused Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to support our San Jose, CA, industrial operations. This role is critical in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing NH3 (ammonia) refrigeration systems in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial refrigeration and preferably hold CIRO or RETA certification. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ammonia refrigeration systems. Monitor system performance and conduct routine inspections to ensure maximum safety and efficiency. Ensure strict adherence to PSM/RMP protocols, OSHA standards, and company safety procedures. Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment. Maintain detailed documentation of system performance, service records, and safety checks. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians as needed. Respond to refrigeration emergencies and participate in the on-call rotation. Qualifications 2+ years of experience working with NH3 ammonia refrigeration systems in industrial environments such as food processing, cold storage, or manufacturing. CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator) or RETA certification strongly preferred. Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulations. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
