Manufacturing Engineer
Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms with our staffing services for over 65 years. We currently have two contract, or a contract-to-direct Manufacturing Engineer openings at our national aerospace controls client in Valencia, CA. These are onsite positions.
Contract target pay rate range: $50 - $75 per hour DOE. This is an aerospace ITAR facility; U.S. Persons are required (Green Card acceptable).
Responsibilities
Develop and refine manufacturing processes for fluid systems and related components on developmental DoD programs.
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of fluid systems (tubes, hoses, fittings, pumps, valves).
Support technology transfer from R&D to production, ensuring compliance with
MIL-SPEC ,
AS9100 , and other defense standards.
Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and tooling requirements.
Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
Ensure adherence to
ITAR ,
DFARS , and other regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance efficiency.
Coordinate with suppliers for specialized fluid system components and materials.
Support validation and qualification of processes, including
first article inspections
and
process capability studies .
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years in fluid systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, fuel systems).
Minimum 2 years of experience in defense or aerospace programs.
Minimum 1 year of CAD experience (ideally Solidworks or Catia).
Minimum 3 years of Lean Manufacturing experience (a plus to have Six Sigma belt/training).
Preferred: 10+ years of experience.
A plus to have AS9100 and MIL-Spec experience.
