We are seeking a dedicated Educator to support unit staff in our 16‑bed Cardiac ICU/CCU. This role includes facilitating unit orientation, maintaining annual education requirements (including regulatory and skills training), and supporting quality monitoring initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of cardiac specialty nursing experience required
Additional 1–3 years of training or education preferred
Proficiency with advanced cardiac technologies such as balloon pumps, Impella, and IABPs

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitates the nursing process (as outlined in the Tertiary RN job description)
Maintains clinical skills and assumes clinical/direct patient care for patients when necessary
Provides safe patient care—demonstrates organizational skills that maintain safe delivery of standard care for assigned patients/families
Performs systematic patient and family assessment relevant to practice settings
Evaluates effectiveness of care and adapts plan based on patient/family response
Effectively communicates plan of care and patient/family response
Collaborates with staff nurses on assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation of nursing care
Provides clinical education support to clinical nurses regarding quality metrics and disease management; assesses and documents progress of practice nurses; directly observes the delivery of care and offers guidance to staff for complex or difficult patient problems
Provides staff with available resources and information to improve patient care outcomes and develop their skills
Collaborates with nurses in coordinating patient teaching and discharge planning
Improves nursing practice by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient outcomes and standards of care
Works with Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Leader, and staff nurses to plan, implement, and evaluate changes in practice on each unit
Develops unit‑based standards of practice/protocols compatible with the philosophy and goals of the Nursing Department
Educates nurses about standards of practice/protocols
Coordinates and implements unit‑based nursing education on new or revised policies, procedures, products, and equipment
Participates in hospital and nursing committees
Develops and monitors continuous improvement initiatives on the unit
Assures maintenance of educational files, bulletin boards, and literary resources for the unit
Ensures adherence to and evaluates compliance with established policies and procedures; ensures compliance with professional nursing standards and regulatory agencies
Promotes excellence in nursing practice by providing expert nursing care to patients and functioning as a clinical resource to nursing staff
Guides and instructs staff in their role as direct caregivers
Evaluates nursing practice to provide clinical learning opportunities for staff
Assists staff to incorporate evidence‑based knowledge into their daily nursing practice
Supports ongoing evaluation of nurses’ progress along the pathway for professional development (unit‑based pathway or clinical ladder)
Clinical Leadership The ability to lead and influence the reasoning of colleagues in the patient’s best interest depends on skillful comportment, authoritative clinical knowledge, wisdom, ethical conviction, and the ability to listen and enhance others’ strengths. Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
Licensure, Certification & Registration:
Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration; Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Requires knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through completion of a Board of Registration–approved nursing education program located within the United States or as certified by the Commission of Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse
Experience:
3 years current, relevant nursing experience required; an additional 1–3 years of training and education experience preferred

Pay Range $38.11 – $98.23 hourly. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
