Responsibilities
Evaluate and direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the facility.
Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures governing the Nursing Department.
Participate in developing and implementing the facility’s quality assurance program for the Nursing Department.
Participate in facility inspections conducted by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator.
Conduct daily rounds of the Nursing Department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
Review complaints and grievances filed by department personnel, residents, or family members and ensure appropriate reports are made.
Qualifications and Requirements
Possess a current license and registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
A minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing experience in Long Term Care with managerial experience.
Proven leadership and management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
