What to Expect As a member of the Reliability and Test team, you will support Closure engineering efforts to identify and characterize failure modes at component level and vehicle level. Your role will be to implement firmware that supports closure prototyping, early-stage buck retrofits, and integrated vehicle level testing.

What You'll Do

Guided by firmware change requests from reliability and test engineering, work collaboratively with respective mechanical and firmware development teams, to support various stages of closure support

Modify existing vehicle firmware to widen protective limits preventing abuse testing, eliminated dependencies on endpoints that may not be present in test applications, and implement on-demand adjustments as necessary

Interpret firmware requests and independently identify, locate, and make necessary modifications. Work with requesters on verification and iterative improvements

Working with mechanical design engineering on proof‑of‑concept changes, assist the firmware implementation on small to large scale evaluation, and eventually cut into production

Deliver functional C code in a real‑time embedded environment with expediency

Hands‑on mechatronicsystem debugging in a test environment

What You'll Bring

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience

2+ years of experience in embedded development in robotics, real‑time controls, or system software

Fluent in software fundamentals including software design and maintainability

Familiar with revision control with Git

Capable of reading and interpreting PCBA schematics for developing and troubleshooting firmware.

Proficiency in C programming in embedded, RTOS system. Familiarity with MISRAC a plus.

Good fundamentals in physics. Knowledge in mechanical engineeringa plus. Test driven development and familiarity with developer driven automated testing

Ability to collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts across design, firmware and manufacturing counterparts

Knowledge in electronic/firmware control of various motor types, including linear / rotary actuators, brushless DC motors, etc.

Knowledge of inverter firmware, voltage / current control, feedback system a plus

Expected Compensation $88,000 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
