is looking for a full-time Manager, Technical and Safety Systems Marine Training. This position will be based on-site in Miami, Florida, and no immigration sponsorship will be offered.

Position Summary

The Manager, Technical and Safety Systems Marine Training is responsible for the strategic development, planning, and execution of training programs related to technical operations, maintenance, and safety systems across the Royal Caribbean Group fleet. Requires expert-level knowledge of STCW, SOLAS, IGF Code, and other IMO conventions and regulations.

Based in Miami, this role promotes a proactive safety culture, represents the company in industry forums, collaborates with internal stakeholders, and oversees the Traveling Fleet Safety Officer program.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of training programs in technical operations, maintenance, and safety systems.

Ensure training content aligns with international maritime regulations, including STCW, SOLAS, IGF Code, and other IMO conventions.

Collaborate with the Manager, Technical, LSA, and Fire Systems, as well as the LSA and Fire Safety Superintendent, to ensure alignment and integration of training efforts.

Oversee training related to Engine Room Management (ERM), Powerplant and propulsion systems, Auxiliary systems, HVAC, and electrical systems, and technical/engineering familiarization and on-the-job (OTJ) training programs.

Develop and manage training for safety systems, including structural fire protection, fixed and portable firefighting equipment, and lifesaving appliances (LSA).

Supervise the Traveling Fleet Safety Officer program, which supports safety training, drydock safety supervision, and newbuild start-up safety training.

Drive continuous improvement and innovation in training delivery and content.

Promote a proactive safety culture across the fleet through training and leadership engagement.

Support the development and management of training budgets related to technical and safety systems.

Provide financial impact analysis and business cases for new training initiatives and programs.

Monitor training resource utilization and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, maritime studies, or a related technical field.

Unlimited Chief Engineer License or equivalent experience strongly preferred.

Extensive knowledge of STCW, SOLAS, IGF Code, and other IMO regulations.

Experience in technical shipboard operations and safety systems.

Proven experience in developing and managing maritime training programs.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience representing organizations in regulatory or industry forums is a plus.

Expert-level understanding of technical systems and safety equipment on board vessels.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Financial acumen and experience with budget development and cost analysis.

Project management experience, including planning, execution, and evaluation.

Familiarity with business process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and training management systems.
