Arnold & Porter is an international law firm headquartered in Washington, DC with offices throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. We provide sophisticated regulatory, litigation, and transactional services to a broad spectrum of clients, including many Fortune 100 companies.

Responsibilities

Support the full lifecycle of preferred provider RFPs and multi‑practice pitches, from evaluation and planning to submission.

Collaborate with attorneys, marketing staff, and other firm personnel to develop, edit, and produce proposal content.

Act as project lead for RFP responses, ensuring all team members and information remain organized.

Produce and design compelling proposal documents, including drafting new content and customizing existing materials.

Coordinate research, compliance, HR, IT, and other departmental requests to assemble a polished final proposal.

Proof, assemble, and deliver the finished product to the appropriate stakeholders.

Work with Directors of Business Development and the Director of Marketing Operations & Technology to update and improve proposal tools and resources (e.g., Foundation software, templates).

Ensure firm‑wide content used in proposals is regularly updated and relevant, in close coordination with Business Development Managers, firm management, and attorneys.

Identify and implement improvements to both the proposals and the overall proposal process.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Significant experience in proposal creation and knowledge of the preferred provider proposal process.

At least 3 years of marketing, proposal, or related experience.

Minimum of 2 years working in a law firm environment.

Strong client‑service mindset with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with firm partners.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional time‑management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

Familiarity with professional writing styles and strong editing skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using proprietary marketing databases such as Foundation or CRM.

Ability to adapt best practices to the unique aspects and staffing of specific RFPs.

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, shifting‑priority environment.

Compensation for this position is a base salary ranging from $82,000 to $110,000, depending on qualifications, experience, education, and location. The firm may provide a discretionary annual bonus.
