The South Carolina School Improvement Council (SC‑SIC) utilizes this position to
Administer all aspects of the Carolina Family Engagement Center grant project (CFEC)
identify new grant funding opportunities and conceptualize/write grant proposal narratives related to family engagement in education, stakeholder and civic engagement in education, and other areas related to the mission and functions of School Improvement Councils, and
Provide direct technical assistance, resources, training, and other support for local School Improvement Council members and related education personnel (currently estimated at 15,000).
SC‑SIC, part of the Center for Educational Partnerships within the University of South Carolina College of Education, has the mission to promote and support civic engagement for quality public education through the state’s 1,100 plus legislatively mandated School Improvement Councils. This position will work with the SC‑SIC Executive Director and other staff in providing these services.
