Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Stormwater Project Engineer/Manager for our Seattle office. This individual will have experience in stormwater and surface water collection systems, drainage analysis, stormwater permitting, best management practice/green infrastructure sizing calculations, developing construction drawings, erosion and sediment control, water quality, fish habitat, and habitat restoration.

Key Responsibilities:
Candidate shall be capable of supervising staff and managing projects. Candidate shall also be able to lead business development activities including preparation of proposals and presentations. Candidates must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant municipal stormwater / surface water experience.
The position will include client development, project management, technical leadership and staff mentoring in Seattle/Washington State. Engagement in regional Northwest and national projects based on technical expertise is likely as well. Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel.
Required Experience: The desired candidate will have experience in:
Serving as Project Manager, Design Manager and Project Engineer with full technical responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution of tasks for small and large projects
Planning, design and construction of stormwater infrastructure and nature-based solutions for wet weather infrastructure including new and retrofitter stormwater basins, stream restorations, and wet weather conveyance infrastructure including culverts and pump stations
Preparation of contract specifications and drawings
Development and review of technical reports, proposals, contract documents, resources studies, and data analysis
Office and field engineering support during construction
Desired Experience:
Site/civil design for conveyance systems
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS software is preferred.
Soil erosion and sediment control design including stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequence.
Permitting of soil and erosion control, storm water, site plans, and drainage studies
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Biological, Biosystems, Environmental Engineering or other related degree
A minimum of 15 years of experience
PE required with ability to obtain registration in other States
Possess strong verbal communication and technical writing skills
Effectively and proactively coordinate with various disciplines
