National Life Group
Role Summary
Come join one of America’s fastest-growing insurance companies. Since 1848, National Life Group has aimed to keep our promises, providing families with stability in good times and in bad. Throughout that history, we have provided peace of mind to those families as they plan their futures.
Our mission extends beyond the insurance and annuities policies that we offer. We strive to make the world a better place through our grants from our charitable foundation, paid volunteer time for our employees, environmentally sustainable and healthy workplaces, and events that promote the work of nonprofits in our own backyard.
We foster a collaborative environment with opportunities for growth and encourage our associates to live our values: Do good. Be good. Make good.
Please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
We’re looking for a Senior Analyst, Data & Analytics who will be part of the analytics function that drives best practices, supports scalable analytical solutions, and partners with both business units and data/engineering teams to ensure analytics delivers impactful insights. You’ll operate at the intersection of business, analytics, and technology — helping define standards, build repeatable frameworks, enable self-service analytics, and deliver key insights to strategic stakeholders.
This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional data initiatives to align analytics efforts with strategic business goals.
Develop and deliver dashboards, reports, and enablement of advanced analytics (in partnership with the AI Center of Excellence) that align with enterprise priorities.
Maintain awareness of analytics industry trends, emerging methods, and support continuous improvement of analytics capabilities across the organization.
Assist in documenting and enforcing analytics standards, best practices, and methodologies — e.g., visualization standards, analytics lifecycle, self-service governance.
Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in data governance and analytics.
Monitor analytics performance: track adoption, user-engagement, business impact of analytics deliverables; recommend optimization.
Partner with IT and business teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions into production environments.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Math, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
10+ years of experience with data governance, data management or data analytics.
Strong communication skills, and the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
Ability to learn data & technology as it relates to business functions.
Analytical mindset with experience in solving complex problems and deriving effective solutions.
Ability to independently navigate ambiguity in decision making.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with Databricks or other cloud‑based data analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift).
Experience using business intelligence tools like Tableau and Alteryx for data visualization and analysis.
Proficiency in coding languages such as SQL, Python, Pyspark, etc.
