We’re looking for energetic Hosts, Vocalists, Actors, Ukulelists, and Magicians to perform at events such as Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras, and Viva La Música.
Roles
Hosts : Engaging event activities, hosting guests, maintaining festive atmosphere.
Vocalists : Upbeat pop, festival‑style or culturally inspired music performances.
Actors : Versatile characters, comedic timing, interactive performance.
Ukulelists : Play and sing up to 60 seconds of "When The Saints Go Marchin' In" on ukulele.
Magician : 2‑minute magic trick with patter.
Audition Requirements
Vocalists: 1–2 minutes of an upbeat song; bring accompaniment track.
Hosts: one‑minute family‑friendly comedic or high‑energy monologue.
Ukulelists: up to 60 seconds of the prescribed song (see above).
Magician: magic trick no longer than two minutes.
All: no accompanist will be provided.
What You Get To Do
Represent the park with positivity and high energy.
Perform in stage shows, parades, meet‑and‑greets, and special events.
Accept performance feedback and adapt accordingly.
Execute pre‑ and post‑show backstage duties.
Assist Crew with laundry and maintenance projects.
Adhere to safety and procedural guidelines.
Execute stage direction and show content expertly.
Interact positively with guests, employees, and fellow performers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May support Sesame Place San Diego as needed.
What It Takes To Succeed
Fun, outgoing, personable, animated style.
Accept and apply performance feedback.
Work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions.
Minimum 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent.
Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Availability for varying shifts including mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, after‑hours rehearsals.
Maintain character integrity.
Willingness to participate in regular performance assessments.
Preferred prior experience in guest service or performance.
Strong verbal communication and positive interaction with diverse guests.
Stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods.
Audition may include dance, movement, script memorization, role playing, comedic improv, miming.
Availability
Non‑peak seasons: at least 3 days unrestricted, including 1 weekend day.
Peak seasons: at least 4 days unrestricted, including 1 weekend day.
Flexible hours based on park needs.
What Else Is Important
Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Extensive walking and standing required.
Ability to kneel, squat, bend, reach overhead, and perform simple grasp and fine motor tasks.
Work indoors/outdoors with varying weather and temperature extremes.
May be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, cleaning chemicals.
Flexible schedules and locations.
Must attend the scheduled audition in person.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $17.50 – $25.00 USD.
