Job Overview RWJBH is seeking a dynamic nurse leader to join our Nursing Supervisor position at the New Brunswick campus. RWJ University Hospital is the primary teaching hospital of the RWJ Barnabas health system, one of three Level 1 trauma centers in New Jersey and a renowned academic medical center. Our nursing supervisors are highly valued, as they provide off‑shift leadership for our extraordinary nursing staff caring for all populations—including trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, perinatal, and children. They demonstrate nursing expertise, flexibility, resilience, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and teamwork. We are seeking an energetic nurse leader to join our team.

Qualifications Required:

BSN required

Minimum one year of leadership experience

Strong communication and organizational skills

Proficient computer skills

Preferred:

2-3 years of acute care experience preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

BLS and ACLS certification

Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Scheduling Requirements

Evening Shift, 36 hours per week

Essential Functions

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and ensures awareness of ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics.

Maintains evidence-based practice, continually advancing knowledge and collaborating with resource persons.

Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.

Understands and applies knowledge of the patient population served.

Supervises and delegates tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.

Sets priorities and evaluates outcomes to promote improvement.

Uses the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize care plans.
