Two full-time, tenure-track Chemistry positions begin August 2026. One is located on the Tulare Campus; the other may be assigned to classes on multiple campuses including Visalia, Hanford, and Tulare. Assignments may include evening classes and teaching at any of the Sequoias Campuses. Committee assignments are encouraged.
College of the Sequoias offers lecture-lab pay parity and additional compensation for overload and large lectures.

Job Duties The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Introductory Chemistry, Chemistry for Allied Health Students, and General Chemistry. Other responsibilities include maintaining office hours, active engagement with campus culture, participation in departmental duties, and fostering an equitable environment throughout the District.
Qualifications
Master's in chemistry OR
Bachelor's in chemistry or biochemistry AND
Master's in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry OR equivalent.
Sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds pursuant to Title 5.
Desirable Qualifications
Teaching or instructional experience, including courses taught at any level, TA or lab instruction, development of lectures or syllabi, or related instructional activities.
Experience assessing progress and collaborating to implement improvements.
Interest in building a chemistry program tailored to community students, especially those pursuing STEM, health science, or agricultural careers.
Enthusiastic participation in professional responsibilities, community and campus service.
Ability to work independently and coordinate with a distributed team.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with proven teaching strategies that support student engagement and retention.
Experience in the community college environment or a primarily teaching institution.
