Lead Electrical Engineer - Primoris Engineering
We are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer (PE) to support our Houston, Texas office. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and supports engineering and design groups for midstream compressor stations, pumping stations, storage tank farms, pipelines and gas and liquid metering facilities.
Responsibilities
Prepare electrical specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
Develop specifications for electrical equipment (pumps, motors, MCC, VFD, transformers, panels, breakers, valve actuators, grounding).
Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, and arc flash studies (SKM, ETAP).
Maintain Electrical Load List and Conduit and Cable Schedule.
Develop RFQ packages and evaluate technical bids.
Review and approve vendor‑supplied drawings.
Coordinate construction drawing packages and quality checks.
Attend FAT assignments and field walkdowns.
Support project lifecycle from concept through construction.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, instrumentation).
General Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience in oil and gas, preferably midstream.
Proficiency in SKM and ETAP.
Knowledge of industry codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, IEC, API, ASTM, etc.).
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Familiarity with Bluebeam Studio, Navisworks, AVEVA.
Good communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
