We at Northrop Grumman Missions Systems seek a skilled Systems Engineer familiar with requirements development, test case development, and verification and validation of those requirements. The ideal candidate should be familiar with requirements technical baseline management via IBM Rational DOORS.
Key Responsibilities
Identify unique requirements from a broad customer base, flow the requirements into design documentation, and work with a diverse team to build and test those requirements. Work on the capabilities of current products, perform performance analyses, design information, and requirements verification methods. Ensure logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, and requirements allocation. Generate, review, and manage multiple requirement sets covering mechanical, electrical, data, environmental, and reliability interfaces. Maintain awareness and responsiveness to contract milestones and deliverables. Work with an Agile team to ensure designs meet system requirements. Verify requirements through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test, providing test and data reduction scripts. Facilitate test directions to ensure production and troubleshooting tests are executed correctly and resulting data conforms to requirements. Develop simulation models for sensors and systems.
Basic Qualifications – Engineer Systems
Bachelor’s of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 2+ years of engineering experience OR Master’s Science degree in a STEM discipline. Experience in System Engineering activities such as: Software requirements development Requirements development Test case development Verification and validation (running tests and documenting results) Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance within a timeframe set forth by management. Ability to work onsite full‑time at Woodland Hills, CA.
Basic Qualifications – Principal Engineer Systems
Bachelor’s of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of engineering experience OR Master’s Science degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years experience. Experience in System Engineering activities such as: Software requirements development Requirements development Test case development Verification and validation (running tests and documenting results) Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance within a timeframe set forth by management. Ability to work onsite full‑time at Woodland Hills, CA.

Salary Range
Primary Level: $91,800.00 – $137,600.00 Secondary Level: $11,400.00 – $171,000.00 The above range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as scope and responsibilities of the position and candidate’s experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
