About the Role As a tutor at Tutor Me Education, you will provide personalized, one‑on‑one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. Responsibilities include delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP), helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and providing ongoing assessment and progress documentation.

Location: In‑Person Tutoring in San Jose, CA
Schedule: 5 sessions a week, 1.15 hours each
Pay: $25 to $35 per hour
Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience tutoring or teaching students with developmental delays.
Familiarity with social‑emotional learning supports and structured teaching methods.
Background check and professional references required.
Experienced in special education tutoring for students with developmental delays.
Skilled in teaching middle school to high school‑level content.
Familiar with IEPs and individualized instruction plans.
Patient, structured, and able to use positive reinforcement and motivational strategies.
ABA experience preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct academic assessments to determine current skill levels and guide instruction.
Provide support in Mathematics (geometry, problem‑solving, grade‑level concepts).
Provide support in English Language Arts (reading fluency, comprehension, writing).
Provide support in Science and Social Studies.
Deliver social‑emotional learning and structured study skills instruction.
Incorporate interests such as Legos, spiders, and outdoor activities to motivate learning.
Use patience, consistency, and ABA‑informed or structured strategies to maintain engagement.
Maintain progress notes and communicate with caregivers regarding goals and outcomes.
