Lehman College is a senior college of The City University of New York (CUNY) located in the Bronx. A federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution, Lehman serves a diverse population of more than 14,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The College invites applications for the position of Vice President for Administration and Finance.

Overview The Vice President for Administration and Finance provides the vision and leadership to manage the College\'s operating and capital budgets; pursues innovative business solutions to enhance the overall effectiveness of the College\'s financial and administrative operations; works collaboratively with senior staff, faculty, administrators, and external constituents to achieve sustainable plans that maximize institutional goals; and is an advocate for funding for Lehman College. Reporting to the President of the College, the Vice President is a member of the President\'s Cabinet and the chief advisor to the President and executive staff on fiscal affairs, administrative, and facilities operations. She/he is the principal liaison to The City University\'s system administration, government agencies, and other entities regarding fiscal, administrative, and operational matters.

Responsibilities

Charge with strengthening the College\'s ability to generate, effectively allocate, and manage resources in support of institutional goals and objectives, within three major areas:

Fiscal Management and Resource Development:

Serve as the College\'s Chief Financial Officer. Plan, direct and coordinate the fiscal affairs, develop financial strategy, operating and capital budgets, financial forecasts and funding models; weigh aspirations against resources and evaluate financial impact of policy options and KPIs; provide expert fiscal and operational policy recommendations to the President and college leadership; maintain reporting and operational relationships with the University Budget Office and Central office to ensure compliance with CUNY policies and applicable regulations.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

Promote proactive improvement of operations through re-engineering processes, new technology solutions, best practices, and user feedback; ensure the budget adequately supports strategic objectives; strengthen internal controls and procedures; deliver services efficiently with strong customer focus; achieve divisional performance goals.

Strategic Leadership:

Provide strategic leadership aligned with the College and University mission; collaborate with senior leadership to bridge financial and administrative data with other data sources to support data-informed decision-making; foster customer service, innovation, and quality services; represent the President on internal/external committees and major campus initiatives.

Qualifications

This position is in CUNY\'s Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree and eight years\' related experience.

The ideal candidate will have progressively responsible experience as a senior executive in higher education, government, or a large business with financial, capital planning and strategic planning responsibilities; an advanced degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or higher education administration is preferred. Experience in a publicly funded urban higher education institution and knowledge of New York State operations and capital budgeting processes are a plus.

The Vice President will be a creative, energetic leader with integrity and strong work ethic; demonstrated innovative, entrepreneurial, and collegial leadership; commitment to public higher education; ability to identify problems and develop solutions; experience as a key contributor to an executive leadership team; strong team-building and communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits Salary commensurate with education and experience, $205,000 - $235,000. (revised)
