Location: Onsite: McCarran, NV Salary: $100 - $150k

A fast-growing engineering, procurement, and construction organization is seeking a

Senior Construction Project Engineer

to support large‑scale industrial facility projects. This role sits at the center of construction execution, working closely with Construction Managers, Superintendents, Project Management, Engineering, Project Controls, and Procurement teams from preconstruction through startup. The Project Engineer will take full ownership of assigned construction scopes, including schedule coordination, contractor management, field issue resolution, inspections, documentation, and ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Meet daily with subcontractors and field crews to review production goals, confirm resource readiness, and maintain progress against schedule and budget.

Collect, analyze, and coordinate shop drawings, specifications, material requirements, and project data to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Provide technical input for work planning and scheduling; identify risks related to materials, equipment, processes, and production.

Track and evaluate daily progress, production metrics, schedule performance, and budget adherence. Document field activities using approved tools and systems.

Communicate significant schedule impacts to project leadership and recommend corrective actions.

Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement tasks, bid packages, and schedule updates for assigned scopes.

Support project cost tracking and coding; coordinate with finance/accounting on labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor expenses.

Review and approve daily timecards for construction crews and assist with resolving payroll questions.

Review project specifications for quality assurance and manage required inspections, certificates, and compliance documentation.

Assist with field layout planning, utility marking, and required permitting prior to construction activities.

Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in weekly project safety meetings.

Support estimating with schedule development and technical input.

Assist with design drawing development and field coordination as needed.

Coordinate subcontractor work methods, crew sequencing, and progress.

Lead project closeout efforts in coordination with designers and subcontractors.

Maintain knowledge of company values, project goals, and strategic objectives.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.

5+ years of experience in construction engineering, scheduling, field coordination, or design.

Strong understanding of cost coding, budgeting, and financial impacts on project performance.

Working knowledge of scheduling processes and industry best practices.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.

Knowledge of construction methods, building materials, equipment, drawings, and specifications.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Self‑starter with proven initiative and interest in continuous learning.

Preferred: experience with construction scheduling tools and production rate analysis.

Passion for process improvement, sustainability, and high‑performance project delivery.

Physical & Working Requirements

Ability to perform essential job functions safely and consistently, meeting productivity standards.

Regular, reliable attendance required.

Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs; ability to climb stairs while carrying materials.

Ability to communicate clearly in person and via phone.

Work performed both in office and outdoors, including exposure to weather, noise, heat, cold, and typical construction‑site conditions.

May require weekends, nights, or on‑call availability as part of normal workload.
