Description Provides day‑to‑day supervision to maximize efficiency, quality and productivity of the histology and cytology section. Responsibilities include:
Supervising specimen preparation, cutting, staining and special test performance by technologists.
Assigning and monitoring work to maximize efficiency and avoid overtime.
Ensuring coverage for calls and communicating clearly with the Pathologist.
Managing workflow to meet turnaround time goals.
Monitoring specimen handling and identification, coordinating with pathologists on quality of slides/stains, and implementing corrective actions.
Documenting corrective actions and problem resolution, identifying instrument or procedural issues, and taking appropriate action.
Estimated pay range: $36.16‑$47.01 per hour, depending on experience.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent (GED, certification, or training acceptable).
Clinical Laboratory Supervisor or Clinical Laboratory Technologist license.
Laboratory and supervisory experience.
TN – Clinical Laboratory Technologist or SU – Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license required.
ASCP certification preferred.
Minimum required experience: 5 years.
