As IPG Medical grows, there is an expanding need for engineering support in the design of medical devices and the transfer of these devices to a production environment. This is a role for a self‑motivated mid‑level Mechanical Engineer with good hands‑on skills and beginning skills in 3D CAD and product documentation and product manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Contributing responsibilities on some device development projects or sub‑projects, including the packaging of lasers, scanners, and electronics.
Working with SolidWorks, design and development of fixtures.
Design detailing, bills of material, etc. on new products and changes to current products. Primary focus on design for manufacturing.
Support of legacy and new product transfer in production. Solving issues that arise in manufacturing, material flow and product final test processes.
Participation and contributions to the gated medical design process including design reviews, risk analysis, participation in design verifications, etc.
Contribute documentation in line with our medical SOPs, in support of submissions and creation of DHFs, with a focus on work instructions, travelers, test forms, etc.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, preferably including co‑op experience, and a minimum of 3 years experience with a medical device company.
Familiarization with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD system in undergraduate work. Knowledge of PLM and other material control systems.
Strong hands‑on mechanical aptitude with demonstrated interests in creating things and a desire to know how things work.
Sufficient computer skills to learn Arena PLM system, moderate proficiency in SolidWorks, and proficiency in Word and Excel.

Wage Information MA: $74,956 - $99,316
US Benefits Information Pay Range:
The pay range on this posting applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location posted, the applicable range could differ. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
