Write and implement machine code, integrate subsystems, and assist in on‑site commissioning efforts. Utilize HMI products such as Wonderware, RSView, Factory Talk View, and Ignition. Implement PLC and HMI programs to satisfy current design and customer specifications under the supervision of senior controls engineers. Collaborate with FORTNA employees, customer representatives, and third‑party vendors throughout design and commissioning. Review electrical designs and produce accurate as‑built drawings for approval. Commission complex automated systems, provide site engineering support, and complete system acceptance testing. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. 2‑4 years of industrial controls experience, including: PLC programming (Rockwell preferred; Siemens a plus). HMI programming (Factory Talk View preferred; Ignition a plus). Design and implementation of input/output devices. Industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet, etc.). Low‑voltage electrical design and drawing creation. Equivalent work experience may substitute for education. Experience with VFDs (preferred) and networked systems (plus). Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office Apps. Skills/Abilities
Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, results‑focused. Knowledge of VFDs, induction motors, PLCs, and industrial networks. Capability to manage basic system implementations, enhancements, and retrofits. Effective collaboration and communication with team members, project managers, and customers. Ability to follow direction from senior controls engineers and achieve project goals. Produce quality designs, drawings, programs, and documentation with minimal errors. Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office environment and frequently travels to industrial sites, where it requires appropriate PPE, diagnostic and implementation tools, laptops, and networking equipment. Travel
Up to 40‑50% travel to client sites. Physical Demands

Base salary range: $76,100 to $114,200. Actual salary will vary based on location and experience.
