Avionics Cable Harness Design Engineer III - New Glenn Stage 2 (Fixed-Term)
Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Cable Harness Design Engineer III for the New Glenn Stage 2 program. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers full benefits and a unique opportunity to contribute to reusable, human‑capable spaceflight.

Responsibilities
Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication, and high‑speed data signal.
Select harness components, connectors, backshells, cable, and wire.
Apply EMI/RFI shielding and harness routing in Creo (Pro/Engineer) and Routed System Designer (RSD).
Create 3D routed harness data files and detail and installation drawings, including 2‑D flat harness drawings.
Design and integrate harness support brackets.
Support configuration development, trade studies, and technical guidance for hardware installation.
Assist assembly and testing of cables and harnesses and report technical status.
Identify opportunities for operational cost and schedule savings.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. degree in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field.
7+ years of experience designing wire harnesses for the aerospace industry.
Proficiency with Creo, Windchill, and RSD.
Knowledge of wire derating analysis and harness standards: IPC/WHMA‑A‑620A, NASA‑STD‑8739.4.
Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3‑D CAD software.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Pro/E Piping and other high‑end CAD routing software (NX, Unigraphics).
Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes.
Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems.
Compensation CA applicants: $126,898.00–$177,656.85 CO applicants: $116,323.00–$162,851.85 WA applicants: $126,898.00–$177,656.85.
