Linux Infrastructure Lead at Recru
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux Infrastructure Team Lead to provide leadership and technical expertise across a hybrid IT environment supporting both commercial and government operations. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of secure, standardized infrastructure environments and has hands‑on experience with Linux, VMware, and Hyper‑V. Exposure to Citrix environments, while not required, is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing infrastructure team responsible for the administration, monitoring, and lifecycle management of enterprise systems.
Oversee the daily operations of Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper‑V, and NetApp storage platforms across on‑premises and hybrid cloud environments.
Ensure all systems meet security, configuration, and compliance requirements as defined by CMMC Level 2, NIST 800‑171, STIG, and internal IT governance frameworks.
Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment of system configurations and vulnerability remediation practices.
Design and implement scalable solutions supporting both classified and unclassified systems in compliance with government standards.
Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, patch management, disaster recovery testing, and capacity planning initiatives.
Collaborate with application and network teams to maintain optimal system performance, network resiliency, and security posture.
Develop and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation, SOPs, and automation scripts to support standardization and efficiency.
Serve as the technical escalation point for complex issues impacting mission‑critical infrastructure systems.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or senior engineering role.
Technical Expertise (in priority)
VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, and virtual infrastructure management.
NetApp storage systems (SAN/NAS, replication, and snapshots).
Windows Server (2016–2022) and Active Directory architecture and management.
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (preferred but not required).
Strong knowledge of network fundamentals a plus (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls).
Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments is a plus.
Compliance Knowledge
Demonstrated exposure to NIST 800‑171, STIG, and CMMC compliance requirements in mixed commercial/government IT environments.
Certifications (Preferred)
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent
Core Competencies
Proven leadership and mentoring skills within technical teams.
Strong understanding of operations and the unique demands of secure, distributed IT environments.
Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
