HighRes Biosolutions is seeking an experienced VP of Accounting and Finance to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Chief Financial officer, the ideal candidate has experience leading accounting and auditing functions and will oversee financial reporting, treasury, audits, internal controls and regulatory compliance for HighRes. You will drive process improvement, accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations while supporting strategic financial initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to align accounting practices with the company’s goals. Experience in a manufacturing setting and with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team

Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other relevant standards

Lead all technical accounting research and implementation, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP for complex transactions, including revenue recognition, leases, equity, and business acquisitions

Oversee external audits and relationships with auditors, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintenance of proper documentation

Manage the internal audit function, ensuring regular reconciliations, reviews, and assessments of financial systems, policies, and procedures

Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

Oversee the treasury function, including cash management, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) and implement strategies to optimize cash flow and manage working capital.

Ensure efficient and scalable accounting processes to support the company’s growth, including automation and process improvements in conjunction with new ERP system (Microsoft D365)

Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and reconciliation of accounts

Oversee cost accounting, which includes work order review; establish and maintain product/project costs and inventory accounting.

Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to align accounting practices with strategic goals, providing insight into financial planning and decision-making

Leverage accounting and financial systems to enhance reporting capabilities and drive operational efficiency

Qualifications

CPA designation is required

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting standards

Proven experience managing audits and compliance

Demonstrated results in driving process improvements.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience with cost accounting and percentage of completion accounting.

Experience with accounting for Software as a Service (Saas) business model a plus

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Experience with Dynamics 365 and / or in a manufacturing setting is a plus
