Faculty Physician – Pediatric Cardiology – General (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor – Academic or Clinician Track) The University of Minnesota’s Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric General Cardiologist for a full-time faculty role in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. The position's rank—Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor—depends on qualifications. Through partnership and collaboration, we respectfully address the physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs of pediatric patients and their families. Position Highlights

Focus on pediatric general cardiology

Responsible for pediatric general cardiology care in both inpatient and outpatient settings

Expected to lead outreach clinics

Include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; clinical practice through UMPhysicians; and participating in service activities on behalf of the department, the medical school, and the profession.

Part of a distinguished team at the Pediatric Heart Center and the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.

Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate’s area of specialty experience.

Active participation in national organizations and fostering an academic environment for students, residents, and faculty.

Optional involvement in non‑invasive imaging if time, skill, and interest allow.

About The Division The Division of Pediatric Cardiology is dedicated to providing outstanding and innovative pediatric heart care, education, and research. The Heart Center at M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital brings help and hope to pediatric heart patients. We are saving lives through innovation—leading the nation in developing new treatment methods for kids of all ages. Over the last three years, the Heart Center has demonstrated some of the best success rates of pediatric heart programs in the country.

Qualifications

MD/DO, graduate of an accredited ACGME Pediatric residency, and completion of a categorical Pediatric Cardiology fellowship

Board‑certified and/or board‑eligible in Pediatric Cardiology

Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure

Ability to acquire/maintain DEA certification in Minnesota

Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges

Ability to receive U.S. work authorization and maintain legal status per visa category requirements

Pay and Benefits This position is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range is $240,000–$362,541 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
