A leading international defense and technology consultancy is seeking a
Data Science & AI Data Scientist
to join its advanced analytics team in
Norfolk, VA . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI engineering, machine learning, and distributed data systems, with the ability to design and deploy scalable data-driven solutions for global organizations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic projects that leverage large language models (LLMs) and advanced analytics to support innovation at an international scale. Role
Develop and implement scalable data science and AI solutions, including LLM-based applications. ⚙️ Design and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-based architectures to support AI and ML workflows. Preprocess, clean, and transform structured and unstructured datasets for model training and inference. Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and system architects to operationalize AI/ML systems. ☁️ Deploy containerized microservices and distributed data systems on platforms such as AWS or Azure. Conduct research to enhance data accessibility, infrastructure performance, and AI integration. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cross-functional teams on data science and AI best practices. Support innovation and transformation initiatives within a complex, multinational environment. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, AI Engineering, or related field. 4+ years of hands‑on experience as a Data Scientist, ML Engineer, or Data Engineer. Strong programming skills in
Python ,
Java , or
Scala
with experience in
TensorFlow ,
PyTorch , or
scikit-learn . Experience with
API development ,
ETL pipelines , and
real-time streaming
using tools like
Airflow ,
Kafka , or
Spark . ☁️ Proven expertise with
cloud‑based architectures
(AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Solid understanding of data privacy, security, and governance principles in enterprise or government environments. Ability to translate analytical results into actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams. Eligible for or holding
