Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Web Developer to join our B2B global marketing team. The ideal candidate will build and maintain our web platform, working with designers, marketers, data scientists and engineers to develop and maintain Rakuten Advertising’s marketing and event sites. Responsibilities include modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, APIs, GitHub, and other frameworks. The role also involves OKR planning, road mapping and vendor management, reporting to the Director of Creative.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the development, optimization and infrastructure of Rakuten Advertising marketing and event websites.

Collaborate closely with Engineering, Growth, Brand and SEO teams to ensure reliable, performant, accessible and secure sites.

Manage the web development cycle and provide technical guidance.

Lead implementation of technical solutions and applications.

Develop and maintain high-quality user interfaces, ensuring accessibility standards and conducting visual QA.

Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to engineering teammates.

Perform website maintenance updates.

Troubleshoot glitches and debug issues as they arise.

Report and measure key metrics for website properties.

Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices.

Introduce innovations that improve the digital experience.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements

Demonstrated success in managing multiple website properties across regions with an analytical focus on user journey flows.

Experience as a technical lead or lead developer on website projects.

Strong fluency or understanding of programming languages and front‑end and back‑end development.

Proficiency with website platforms such as HTML, CSS, WordPress, GitHub, etc.

Experience writing code independently or in a team setting.

Intricate reporting skills and traffic analysis using GA4.

Familiar with technical specifications and functional requirements documentation.

Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles and best practices.

Experience with website optimization and performance tuning.

Knowledge of SEO best practices.

Knowledge of implementing Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console.

Experience conducting website maintenance and optimization, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

Ability to solve complex problems and present solutions clearly and briefly.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent communication and project management skills; ability to execute under pressure, highly organized and proactive.

Team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desired Skills

Experience working with global teams and understanding cultural nuances in different markets.

Proven track record of managing global campaigns and executing regional campaigns to meet local teams’ needs.

Proactive approach to staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in AI, digital marketing and new website tools.

Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively in an evolving, agile and results‑driven environment.

Compensation USD $72,090.00 – $123,876.00 annually
