as a Plant Accountant. Darigold is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join their Operations Accounting team as Plant Accountant. This position reports to the Operations Accounting Manager and supports all phases and areas of the Operations Accounting process across multiple plants.
This Plant Accountant will also partner with Operations in support of plant initiatives, reporting, monitoring and auditing, and will develop and maintain positive and integrated working relationships with Production and Support departments at the plant, as well as Corporate Accounting teams.
What You Will Do
General Accounting: Ensure compliance with Darigold and plant accounting processes, maintain the integrity of the plant G/L and balance sheet, understand and apply GAAP, participate in plant reporting, variance analysis, fixed asset accounting and reviews, customer claims, inventory accounting, and liaise with Corporate Accounting teams (Tax, A/P, A/R, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, etc.).
Cost Accounting: Complete monthly financial close and reporting cycle, prepare month‑end journal entries, reconciliations and reports, manage inventory valuation and maintenance of standards, generate manufacturing variance, finished goods and material inventory reports, and resolve discrepancies with Production and Warehouse teams.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the Plant Controller in budgeting and forecasting by analyzing trends, compiling historical data, preparing schedules, and performing related duties.
Decision Support / Business Partnering: Partner with plant management and staff to support Operations objectives; participate in problem solving and analytics, continuous improvement activities, and provide manufacturing support and analysis on process performance, line efficiency, capital spending, inventory management, production costing, and cost reduction initiatives.
Cross Training / Daily Production Entry: Cross‑train on all daily production tasks, including accurate entry of raw materials, ingredients and packaging receipts, and recording production and shipments of finished products.
What You Will Bring
BA/BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
4‑6 years of experience in an accounting or financial analyst role.
Prior experience in a food or beverage production facility is preferred.
Milk accounting experience is ideal.
Inventory accounting experience is beneficial.
Experience with Oracle, Kronos, Oracle BI, SAP Business Objects and other business software is preferred.
Experience running timely, accurate month‑end closings including inventory reconciliation, adjustments and accruals.
Experienced in formulating journal entries and posting them to appropriate accounts.
Knowledge of budgeting processes and variance monitoring.
Demonstrated analytical ability, creativity, curiosity, diligence and initiative.
Proven self‑starter with a keen interest in learning and professional development.
Ability to multi‑task and work the hours required to accomplish all tasks on time.
Well‑developed interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo.
Highly proficient in Excel with ability to learn and utilize a wide range of software programs.

Compensation range: $78,000 – $112,426.
