About the Role Ozell Services Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHHS) to support federal operations in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused environment. The EHHS will play a key role in promoting workplace safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting environmental and occupational health initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, procedures, and policies.
Conduct regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and workplace audits.
Support OSHA, EPA, and related regulatory compliance efforts.
Perform incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding briefings to employees.
Maintain required EHS documentation, reports, logs, and safety records.
Assist leadership with emergency response planning, risk mitigation, and safety improvement initiatives.
Serve as a technical advisor for job hazard analyses (JHAs), PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local occupational safety and health regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in EHS, workplace safety, or environmental compliance.
Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 & 1926 standards.
Experience conducting inspections, audits, and safety training.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and interface with government and contractor personnel.
Current OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, or HAZWOPER certifications preferred.
