Senior Board Design Engineer – Onsite at an HPE office. HPE is a global edge‑to‑cloud company driving innovation in high performance computing, AI, and edge solutions.
Job Description Design complex PCAs for high performance computing systems. Work independently or with senior engineers to develop, validate, and release leading edge PCAs into production.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Design new and derivative PCAs based on system and board design requirements.
Collaborate with power, mechanical, thermal, signal integrity, firmware engineers and vendors to develop innovative, cost‑effective solutions.
Conduct design reviews and contribute to team design reviews per HPE’s product design, development, and release processes.
Bring‑up, debug, and validate PCAs in an engineering test lab environment.
Release new PCA designs into manufacturing and support root cause issue resolution during volume production ramp‑up.
Track and document issue discovery, investigation plans, results, and closure in issue tracking databases.
Create documentation, specifications, test plans, and manufacturing assembly/build instructions.
Work independently and/or participate in task teams addressing complex system/problem analysis.
Background and Experience
BSEE or MSEE with 8+ years of design experience in server/compute node or high speed network switch PCA design.
Proficiency with Allegro Design Entry HDL or similar schematic capture tools; hierarchical schematic design experience is a plus.
Experience with Allegro PCB layout tools for PCB design review; constraint manager setup skills desired.
Advanced knowledge of signal integrity principles/techniques and voltage regulator design is desired.
Knowledge of server‑grade x86, ARM, GPU processors, processor complex/memory design, FPGAs, and high speed networks (100G/200G/400G Ethernet, Infiniband) is a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Some travel may be required.
