About the Role
Actuarial Sr. Consultant – E&S Pricing in Nationwide’s Finance department, responsible for driving pricing strategy, profitability, and strategic decisions for Contract Property & Casualty and Contract Excess products. The role is fully remote and offers a dynamic, innovative environment that values collaboration and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
Drive pricing strategy and profitability for Contract Property & Casualty and Contract Excess products.
Monitor book of business, lead rate reviews, and manage business partner requests.
Engage in planning and forecasting in collaboration with key property and casualty business partners.
Serve as a technical expert in actuarial methodologies, conducting complex analyses and presenting findings to influence business strategy.
Lead and collaborate on large cross‑functional projects, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and innovative solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Previous actuarial experience focused on pricing.
Associate or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS/FCAS) preferred.
Strong communication skills and team‑oriented collaboration.
Experience working with underwriters and a proven track record of influencing strategic decisions.
Proficiency in actuarial software and programming tools (Python, SQL, Databricks, R, Excel).
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, or related field.
Six or more years of actuarial experience, generally with ACAS and working toward or holding FCAS.
Detailed knowledge of actuarial business functions, statistical methods, and actuarial modeling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, analytical software, and programming languages.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, customer‑focus, and leadership competencies.
