Principal Mechanical Engineer – Westinghouse Electric Co
Westinghouse Electric Company invites applicants for the Principal Mechanical Engineer role. This hybrid position will be based in either Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC, with a typical expectation of 2-3 days on‑site per week. There is no relocation support offered for this role.
About the Role:
As a Principal Engineer you will apply advanced nuclear plant design expertise across interfaces with systems, equipment, structures and physical plant layout. You will build and maintain 3D models, integrate design across functional areas, and lead global engineering efforts in support of large‑scale nuclear projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global and cross‑functional engineering teams to execute technical scope, schedules and financial goals for design, fabrication, construction and maintenance of nuclear projects.
Develop 3D models and physical arrangements.
Conduct hazard evaluations and implement IAEA safeguards.
Integrate and oversee design interfaces.
Present technical topics and interface with global customers and regulatory bodies.
Mentor engineers and plan for knowledge management and retention.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
Ability to work remotely from a home office and from customer sites worldwide.
