Position
Project Accountant (Entry Level) – Locations: San Jose, CA; Denver, CO; Charlotte, NC.
Overview Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is seeking an entry‑level Project Accountant to work with multiple business units to manage all financial aspects of projects, including monitoring progress, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring timely billing and payment collection. The role serves as the client interface for Project Managers, analyzes and reports on project profitability, utilization, budgets, and accruals.
Primary Responsibilities
Communicate and collaborate with Project Managers regarding contract documents, scope changes, contract amendments, approvals, financial status and other project services.
Generate and interpret financial records and statements for management and project managers – including project profitability, additional billing opportunities and backlog analysis.
Respond to client requests and investigate variances, unbilled project expenses and unpaid contract billings.
Create and close out opportunities and projects in NetSuite and Box.com as appropriate.
Maintain project‑related records, including contracts and change orders (primarily in Box.com).
Review and approve subcontractor invoices, all project‑related billings to customers, and write‑offs of billings that cannot be collected.
Assist with customer invoicing.
Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience, including internship experience in project accounting or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus.
Knowledge of project contracts and change order documents.
Experience with financial project tasks such as budget control, invoicing or creating sales orders within ERP systems.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Experience with NetSuite and Box.com is a plus.
Salary Range $75,700 – $84,100
