Position Summary
Accounting Manager
at
Goodwill Industries of San Diego County Essential Functions
Ensures all accounting processes provide accurate information for internal and external customers of accounting products and services. Ensures the accounting system functions smoothly and consistently meets internal and external deadlines. Ensures orderly data process flow through command of system knowledge. Provides leadership and support to the people of the accounting department. Manages all operations of the accounting department in the absence of the Controller. Establishes and maintains positive relations with banks and other financial institutions. Ensures accuracy of accounts payable batches before posting to the General Ledger. Ensures rent payment is one time. Complies with all laws and regulations that apply to the department and keeps abreast of any changes. Assures accuracy of Daily Bank Reconciliation – General Account. Notifies stores of their Sales Cash Over/Short issues and BOA Credit Card Chargeback issues. Ensures accuracy of Monthly Bank Reconciliation – General Account (BoA, Payroll Account – Wells Fargo). Prepares Monthly General Ledger entries such as Store Sales and Payroll. Reconciles Balance Sheet accounts: Cash, Petty Cash Fund, Change Fund, Cobra Account and Payroll Clearing Account. Ensures all ACH payment enrollment is properly entered into BOA Paymode portal and Business Central. Reports un‑cashed payroll checks to the State. Prepares schedule for audit purposes. Prepares 1099 and Yearly Heavy Highway vehicle renewal / Vehicle Motor Carrier Permit. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Organizational Standards
