Job Description The Vice President Accounting you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the accounting operations of our diverse hotel properties. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and driving financial strategies that contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements for each property as assigned.

Analyze financial data and trends to provide insightful recommendations to senior management.

Collaborate with hotel management teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts.

Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecast, identifying needs for improvement.

Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, controls, and safeguards.

Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and relevant regulations.

Work closely with auditors to facilitate audits and address audit findings as needed.

Contribute to the development of financial strategies that align with overall business goals.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement across hotel properties.

Provide strategic financial leadership to the hotel accounting team.

Lead and mentor team of accounting professionals fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Provide guidance on complex accounting issues.

Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.

Requirements Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA or DMA designation preferred.

Certifications / Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)

Advanced skills in MS Excel

Proficient in Oracle Cloud application, Profit Sword.

PMS / POS experience (Micros Opera, Light Speed, Fosse, OnQ)

Other

10+ years of experience in accounting, hospitality accounting experience preferred.

5+ years supervisory experience

Strong knowledge of Hotel Accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting

Experience working with third party ownership groups preferred.

Strategic thinking with an innovative mindset

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.

This role is office-based with standard working hours but may require extra hours during major project phases.

Travel may be necessary for meetings, conferences, and industry events.
