Job Summary UCSF Fitness and Recreation – Part Time – 87015BR – 20% – Weekends – Variable shift length (Sunday–Saturday, open hours of Fitness Center).

Job Responsibilities Prepare curriculum and teach group fitness classes. Complete ancillary administrative records and assist with promotions. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Attend staff meetings and in‑house training as required. Contribute annually to the assessment of classes and personal performance evaluation. Remain current in industry standards prescribed by supervisor. Behave professionally, work as a team player, and adhere to facility policies.
Documented completion of a minimum 450‑hour Comprehensive Pilates teacher‑training program – preferred
American CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire – required
Nationally recognized Pilates certification – required
Previous Pilates teaching experience in a gym/health club environment – preferred
Responsible for building and maintaining a member/client business
Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of program activity practices and procedures
Verbal and written communication skills in English, active listening, dynamic flexibility, critical thinking, multi‑task and time‑management skills
Ability to exercise independent sound judgment and employ reasoning skills
Client service‑oriented, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills
Ability to successfully pass FBI and DOJ Criminal Check
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Science or a related field – strongly preferred
Documented completion of a minimum 450‑hour Comprehensive Pilates teacher‑training program
One year experience teaching on all Pilates apparatus and/or completion of Pilates Teacher training with a minimum of 450 hours
Knowledge of campus policies and procedures
Basic computer skills relevant to job duties
Rehab or injury management experience
License/Certification
American CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
Nationally recognized Pilates certification
Note This is a limited position and ends one year from the date of hire, with potential to renew annually.

Compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement vary widely; a job offer typically falls in the range of 80%–120% of the established mid‑point.
