Job Summary The Sr. Corporate Counsel will report to the General Counsel of JFCUSA and provide legal advice and services for the company and its affiliated entities.

Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and negotiating documents for complex transactions and day‑to‑day matters; protecting legal interests; ensuring compliance; and offering counsel on procurement, employment, litigation, marketing, and franchising.

The role requires generalist experience, franchising knowledge, and the ability to handle a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment with frequent travel.

Responsibilities

Participate in the negotiation, drafting, and execution of JFCUSA’s agreements including manufacturing, distribution, supply, service, financing, and purchase and sale agreements, as well as franchise disclosure documents, franchise agreements, and amendments.

Manage litigation, monitoring claims filed against or on behalf of JFCUSA, assessing dispute merits, developing litigation strategies, and negotiating settlements where warranted.

Advise on franchise marketing materials, default notices, franchisee committees, and all aspects of the franchisor/franchisee relationship.

Provide day‑to‑day legal counsel and training to multiple levels of staff within JFCUSA.

Education and Experience

At least 5+ years of legal experience.

Graduation from an ABA‑accredited law school.

Licensed in Colorado or California, or ability to be registered as in‑house counsel in those states.

Experience as an attorney at a law firm and/or in‑house counsel of a franchisor or franchisee.

Generalist experience with franchise law.

Ideally received rigorous training at a law firm before transitioning to an in‑house role.

Additional Information Location: Denver, Colorado (preferred) or West Covina, California.

Minimum of 3 days per week required in office.
