Job Description Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Handles hazardous materials including inventorying, identifying, segregating, and packaging waste in accordance with Lab Pack policies and regulations.

Performs onsite services such as waste collection, consolidation, sampling, safety/compliance inspections, and other related activities required by the customer or contract.

Assists other business groups (Depack, Retail, HHW) as needed.

Prepares shipments by inspecting, labeling, marking, and loading packaged waste into transport vehicles.

Completes documentation including shipping papers, Land Disposal Restrictions, evaluations, certifications, and other required paperwork.

Maintains a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement to operate Clean Earth vehicles for transportation.

Follows and promotes Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis procedures and develops on‑site plans as outlined in company policies.

Performs unknown field testing for classification and packaging.

Mentors and assists new employees with field duties.

Conducts site walks to inventory and assess requirements for potential and awarded work.

Assists sales in creating estimates for lab pack work.

Leads/coordinates field service and lab pack jobs involving multiple personnel and days.

Supports scheduling and staff training as directed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Starting Pay $38.00 hourly.

Qualifications Basic Requirements

Associate’s degree in general science (BS preferred) required for the Lab Pack Chemist.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous Material endorsement and a clean record.

Moderate to extensive travel, 20% overnight travel.

Physical ability to lift and move material frequently exceeding 55 lbs.

Basic understanding of chemistry through general chemistry or biology.

Advanced knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations.

Minimum two (2) years of lab pack experience.

40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER coursework.

8 hours DOT Training.

PPE Training that includes Respirators.

40 hours Depack Experience.

This position requires a CDL B to be obtained within 6 months of the start date. Failure to obtain a CDL B within that period will make the applicant ineligible for this position.

This position is also contingent upon successful completion of a DOT physical, DOT Drug Screen, and any other DOL or company requirements.
